Eels…
Wednesday, May 5th, 2010A man in China was killed by an Eel, after it was “inserted in his rectum” and it “devoured” his bowels…
His friends (who inserted the eel) are the kind of ‘friends’ your mother warned you about.

Shaving My Head For The Leukaemia & Blood Foundation
Thursday, April 15th, 2010
If you’ve read this message a million times already I apologise. (I’ve made note of it here, here, here and on Twitter)
I’m participating in the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation’s yearly fund raising event called “Shave for a cure”. I’m shaving my melon and suckering my mates into coughing up some dough.
I’m dedicating the money I raise to a gentleman who lives with leukaemia by the name of Ian Gillespie, the grandfather of my friend Hanan Pillette AKA PaintedDeath.
Leukaemia is a condition that truly destroys people.
If you’ve got a couple of bucks to spare for a noble cause – please consider donating:

TL;DR VERSION: long story short I’m raising money for the Leukaemia & Blood Foundation. They don’t get any government funding and do great work for those in need – please help out: http://www.shaveforacure.co.nz/view_event_profile/2210
Cheers guys, much appreciated.
James Alexander Stenning Steals Wii
Friday, March 19th, 2010
A Christchurch gentleman (an Overclockers New Zealand Member) has had his property stolen by one James Alexander Stenning because he mistakenly auto-addressed a package to be delivered to his old address. The courier, (Stennings) landlord and victim seem to have substantial combined evidence linking Stenning to the stolen property. Christchurch police are not interested due to theft being a low priority.
Semi-AFK-Retirement
Wednesday, February 24th, 2010Alright Gentlemen. (and 2 ladies)
Things here will be slow from now (Wednesday) through until Friday. I’m off getting married.
I recommend you use this break to top up your Vitamin D levels, and laugh heartily at that golf .gif below.
All the best, and I’ll catch you again on Monday.
U.N Climate Change Panel Fail Again
Monday, February 15th, 2010
Ok so apparently this time the United Nations Climate Panel has been called out over exactly how much of the Netherlands is below sea level.
The panel claimed 55%, apparently the actual figure is in the mid to high 20’s.
Last month they were apologising for something else.
“The panel expressed regret last month after admitting that the 2007 report exaggerated the pace of melt of the Himalayan glaciers, which feed rivers from China to India in dry seasons, in a sentence that said they could all vanish by 2035.”
I can only imagine an inflated figure would allow them to ‘crank up the devastation’ figures if sea level rises, thus adding more impact to their argument.
As you would expect, they claim this inaccuracy does nothing to invalidate their core argument as this was just ‘background information’.
Honestly, I’m more of a hippy than most. I walk to get my groceries more often than not, I grow herbs and vegetables on the deck of my tiny inner city apartment. Needless to say that even if global warming is BS, I’d personally like to see some positive environmental change happening. It has started happening already and that’s great.
As far as the media has led us to believe this climate panel are championing the ‘planet saving’ cause. Yet they remind me more of standard 1 science fair entrants than grown up scientists. (I’m talking about the kids in the early 90’s who didn’t have their parents knock their experiments into shape, mine were always pretty decent, thanks Dad)
I personally know two scientists who wouldn’t stand for this sort of carry-on.

(If these two charming faces don’t ring any bells, I suggest you study up)
Have a great day!

This guy consumed 10 pints, drove down the highway and killed a cyclist (34 year old Jens Richardon).
The impact smashed his windscreen and knocked his number plate off (making it easy for police to find him). He then drove home and kept drinking, leaving Jens to die on the roadside.
Christchurch Judge Stephen Coyle gave him 12 months home detention, for slaughtering a cyclist under the influence of alcohol.

Warner, Sony BMG, EMI And Universal Pirate Up To 6 Billion In Music
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009![]()
We reported on a case last year where police raided a Sony music office in Mexico and recovered pirated (illegally obtained) 6000 CDs from Latin Americas golden boy Alejandro Fernández.
If only that was the wake up call the music industry needed.
They’re now being sued in a class action case by a variety of artists for stealing the work of musicians (some of whom are dead) to put onto compliation CDs. One of the now dead artists they’ve chosen to rip off is the one and only Chet Baker – for those who don’t recognise the name, Chet was essentially the Jazz trumpet player of the 50’s
The music industry is now being sued in Canada for approximately 6 billion in piracy, they’ve already admited to at least 50 million in damages.
There are now 300,000 tracks on the books of the music industry that have not been paid for. We’re talking fully released work they’ve slapped onto CDs and digital downloads.

Monday, December 7th, 2009A Simple Question – How Many Of You Drink Coffee?
Thursday, November 26th, 2009
Ok, so I admit it right now – this article isnt news related.
I’m considering taking on a coffee related project and was curious how many people in the I.T. space are regular coffee drinkers (and when I say coffee drinkers – I mean have a favourite coffee shop that you hit up 3+ times a week, rather than an instant coffee fiend.)
Be a pal and leave a comment if you’re that guy.
Much appreciated – I’ll be sure to keep you all in the loop.
