So apparently I’ve seen too many of these films!
An awesome collection, well worth checking out if you need some inspiration!
GTA is a great series and I honestly doubt anyone will dispute that. Similarly the Nintendo DS is a great console. (something probably a little more debatable)
When you put the two together and apparently you get this trailer.
Honestly, I laughed a little.
As a billion dollar industry, gaming sure loves throwing us talent.
Recently confirmed actors Rose McGowan, Common ( who’s also voice acting in Wanted: Weapons Of Fate ) and Moon Bloodgood ( who’s also starring in the new Streetfighter: The Legend of Chun Li ) will be lending their voice talents to the new Terminator: Salvation game.
The game is said to be “a prequel to the film and follows the Barnes character, though players can assume the control of John Connor. McGowan has also provided a lot of input for the game”
Personally I’d love to see more A-grade actors gaining interest in making video game debut’s and continuing to boost games to a new level with outstanding voice over performances!
Terminator: Salvation the game is expected to be released at the end of May for PC, 360 and PS3

If there is a better way to keep up on US politics – I’ve never seen it.
I’m sure at least some of you will have either heard of, or were in fact part of the annual Otago University Toga Party.

Here is the basic run down of events as they unfolded this year:
2. As the students walked down the main street, they were attacked from the first story apartments. These apartments line George Street and are above almost all of the street level shops.
3. The attack was premeditated by the residents of the inner city apartments. They threw eggs, water, vomit and excrement at the students as they passed.
4. Panic ensued, damage was the result.
5. The media publish articles blaming the students for yet another act of anarchy.
Now, lets get this straight – please.
University students cause a bloody great mess. They get boozed out of their minds and without their mothers around to slap them on the backs of the hands they continue to do so. Fighting so often ensues and my home town ends up being a pretty unpleasant place to be at 2 in the morning.
There is really no excuse for that sort of behavior.
What boggles my mind however is that local media, and indeed international media as a result continue to use any excuse to further criminalize students regardless of the facts.
Here is a video published by the BBC entitled “Students rampage in New Zealand”. That is all the explanation they believe that they require, they have followed suit behind New Zealand media outlets.
It matters not who is to blame, if the students are there in some way shape or form – it is indeed their fault.
There can be no doubt, the presence of a New Zealand University student is in fact synonymous with the presence of Lucifer and unscrupulous, devilish acts of anarchy – am I right?
Damage was done to the town, fair enough – It should never have happened. However I fail to understand exactly why that is an excuse to run a story entitled “Students Riot” rather than “Students Assaulted En Masse”.
Students certainly cause enough legitimate trouble to warrant the odd news paper article or two, and I have no intention nor desire to deny that. However when it gets to the point where media believe that they no longer need any form of rational proof in order to slam a group of people – they become nothing more than a tabloid. Literature which exists to do little more than to provide fuel for the fire in winter.
Although I’m sure a number of folks already believe the Otago Daily Times has that job well under control.
This is the blast radius of a 140 kilo tonne explosion overlaid on a Google Map of Mumbai.

I don’t have anything against Mumbai, this is just an example.
The interesting thing is, you can use this applet from Carlos Labs to overlay historic explosions onto Google Map locations. You can even see what an asteroid impact might look like!
Today the defense brought forward 2 of its own witnesses – a lecturer in IT law and a media professor.
Both explained that .torrent technology is not illegal and is both beneficial and promoted by the entertainment industry, citing World of Warcraft and their large scale patch distribution. It was also pointed out that just because a torrent can be accessed via TPB, does not mean that their tracker is being used for that specific torrent file.
The prosecution began its cross by asking the lecturer if they had heard the rumor 40% of the worlds internet traffic was down to TPB, and that 50% of the worlds torrents are located at TPB. Both were denied by the witness.
Very little blood was drawn by either side, and so we saw the next witness take the stand. The prosecution attacked the credentials of the media professor at length, accusing him of ‘not being a real professor at all’. The professor asked the prosecution if that was the best they could come up with.
The prosecution then displayed a graph which showed that “18% of those who download copyrighted music buy less, while only 8% indicate to buy more. “ – this caused some confusion in the court, and the witness for the defense refuted them. Finally, the defense showed the court a short video which detailed exactly how a torrent file is made and distributed.
While the courtroom was not getting fired up over who ‘is and isn’t’ a ‘real’ professor – the day was fairly placid.
Here is a snippet from Wired which details some of my previous comments from day 8 of the trial. Apparently I wasn’t the only one to find this funny:
STOCKHOLM – Laughter filled The Pirate Bay trial here Wednesday when John Kennedy, the chief executive of the International Federation of Phonographic Industries, testified that people would have purchased every music track they got free file sharing. Kennedy answered an affirmative “Yes” to Pirate Bay defense attorneys when asked whether that was true. Bursting laughter could be heard from the audio room beside the courtroom where the trial’s sound was being broadcast. The sleek executive, flown from London, was clad in a grayish-blue tailored suit and sported a helmet of stiff, reddish blown-dried hair. Or maybe it was a wig.
On an interesting side note:
The Pirate Bay has just released their manifesto in English. The book, titled ‘POwr, Broccoli and Kopimi’ is filled with 100 inspiring principles for everyone who aims to live the Kopimi lifestyle. “The Internet is right,” is the ultimate wisdom.
It is available here in torrent form.

To all the computer hardware freaks out there – this one’s for you.

Thats right, users are currently having their accounts banned by Microsoft because they disclose their sexual orientation in their GamerTag.
Lesbians have been getting chased around and abused by Xbox Live users, followed by swift account suspension by Microsoft.
Apparently a user with the GamerTag Richard Gaywood was also suspended.
I imagine Microsoft is taking a hard line because the product is dominated by teenagers – and MS sees that if parents find out that there are ‘Gays on the Xbox’ they won’t pay their children’s subscriptions anymore.
Good job Microsoft, good to see you’re fueling the fires of decades past.
I like to think that we here at eSport not only inform, but occasionally educate the fine crowd that grace us with their visits.
Have you ever wondered how a gun turret worked but couldn’t be bothered reading about it? I doubt that you have – but let us presume otherwise!
I give you: an animated diagram of a functional turret!
